A coastguard spokesperson said he could only confirm the number of survivors and the recovery of two bodies. Italy's right-wing government has adopted a policy of assigning far-away ports to charity ships, rather than letting them disembark rescued migrants in nearer Lampedusa or Sicily, with the aim of spreading arrivals across the country. Jamie Raskin says GOP members of the House could try to make Trump the Speaker. Rep. Matt Gaetz previously told supporters he would nominate Trump if the GOP took the House. "And they might just vote for Trump, when they, you know, take the roll call for speaker," Raskin said. " The idea to bring Trump back to politics by voting him in as Speaker has been publicly floated by Florida Rep. Matt Gaetz since last year. However, talk of Trump leading the House has become more popular over the years, and multiple Republicans, like his former Chief of Staff Mark Meadows and former adviser Steve Bannon, have also supported the idea of House Speaker Trump.

Oscar-winning director Paul Haggis was arrested in Italy on Sunday on charges of sexual assault and aggravated personal injury, police said. Priya Chaudhry, an attorney for Haggis, said the Canadian filmmaker was "totally innocent" and was willing to cooperate with authorities. He is totally innocent, and willing to fully cooperate with the authorities so the truth comes out quickly." The woman who accused Haggis will also be questioned ahead of the trial, Negro said. Haggis denied the original allegation and sued the publicist, Haleigh Breest, accusing her of trying to bankrupt him.
